FORGIVENESS AND PEACE JOURNEY (FPJ)
We run our curriculum in a number of schools in Beirut and the South of Lebanon.
ASR's special curriculum is all about giving children the tools they need to handle conflicts and stop violence before it starts. We focus on forgiveness and making peace, teaching them how to behave well in class and take care of themselves overall. Our lessons are hands-on, with lots of group talks and activities to help everyone learn how to get along better and respect each other.
In local schools, we've been using our FPJ curriculum for a while now. Even with everything going on in Lebanon, we've seen just how important it is, especially when times get tough. This year, we've been working hard in schools in Hadath and Dahya/Mrayjeh in South Beirut, teaching children and teens of different ages how to make peace.
We don't stop there, though. We keep an eye out for those who might be struggling and work with them, their parents, and their teachers to figure out what they need. We make sure everyone knows what's going on and work together to make things better, whether it's in school or at home.
Teachers are a big part of what we do, too. We're giving them special training to help them teach our curriculum even better. They learn how to handle conflicts, take care of their students' well-being, and make sure everyone feels included. By training teachers, we're making sure our lessons have an even bigger impact on the whole school.
